Experience:
Managing Director, JTDIII, LLC (4/03-Present)
Provide software, hardware and network IT services to commercial and residential clients. Implement data backup systems and off site storage to protect
critical client data. Design and build internal and external websites for commercial customers, using HTML, JavaScript, NetObjects and HoTMetaL.
Manager Software Engineering, SeaChange International, Maynard MA (5/01-9/02).
Led a team of twenty six software and QA engineers in the design, development, maintenance and testing of quarterly releases of the ITVCommandCenter software,
a Video on Demand client-server application written in Visual C++ under Windows NT. Worked with multiple customers to gather requirements, set delivery schedules, track project status using MS Project,
and provided 7x24 engineering support. Developed and reviewed requirements, specification and design documents and test plans. Successfully delivered combined product releases, integrating with two
remote development organizations. Tracked bug numbers, and prioritized development and QA resources in relation to bug discovery and closure rates. Implemented a patch tracking system and improved the
build/release process. Proposed, maintained and monitored the budget.
Section Manager, EMC/Data General - Clariion Division, Southborough, MA (3/96-10/00)
Managed development of Navisphere, a family of client server applications written in Visual C++, to monitor and control SAN disk arrays. Matrix managed a
team of over thirty engineers through multiple successful quarterly releases. Developed project specifications and requirements and UML design documents, forecast budgets, recruited and hired staff. Drove
process improvements in the development and release groups, implementing an automated build/and kitting process under NT, AIX, Solaris and HP-UX. Developed an intranet site used to track all project
status and build information using HTML, PERL and an apache web server. Acted as the 7x24 engineering escalation interface for all critical customer support issues.
Senior Software Engineer, Raytheon. MarlboroughMA, Frankfurt, Germany (12/92-3/96)
Produced object oriented software requirements specs, design documents, code and working GUI prototypes to support bid proposals on Air Traffic Control (ATC)
and Vessel Tracking Systems (VTS) for the US and foreign governments. All software development was performed in C with X-Windows GUIs, at a certified SEI CMM rating of 3.5. Onsite installation, support
and development of the DERD-XL air traffic control system for the Deutsche Flugsicherung (German FAA) upgrades in Frankfurt, Berlin and Düsseldorf. Wrote serial to Ethernet (TCP/IP) communications packages, to
allow the legacy tower approach control ATC system and the over flight center's ATC system to exchange flight information. Modified the Ingres database and added SQL routines to handle additional radars.
CIM Development Engineer, GE Aircraft Engines, Lynn MA (3/90 – 9/92)
I was the project leader of the Flexible Gaging Station effort, installing robust CMMs on the shop floor, integrating with CAD and analysis
packages. Designed and developed inspection and analysis software for jet engine components, using C, and UNIX shell scripts. Performed Deming experiments and created routines to perform six sigma
analysis on jet engine parts as part of a TQM process. Prepared cost/benefit analysis, detailed specifications and acceptance criteria for vendor quotes, integrated new inspection equipment and software into
the existing plant.
Software Engineer, Moore Special Tool Co., Bridgeport CT (5/87-8/89)
Developed machine controls and 3D geometric analysis routines for coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) in FORTRAN, Pascal and assembly code. Designed
post processing software to created six axis cam cutting instructions for CNC grinders, from CAD data files. I developed real time machine control software for multi-story tall machine tools. Designed and
implemented an ANSI Y14.5 metrology package, performing numerical analysis, including 3D MMC models of physical parts from clouds of data. Dealt with customers to determine their requirements, present project
status and solve customer issues.
