Velutti e Moda

A wonderful exhibit catalog of the velvet exhibit at the Museo Poldi Pezzoli.  Unfortunately they are not set up for e-commerce, however they accept Visa and mastercard, and are quite willing to ship copies to people who contact them by email at info@museopoldipezzoli.org. They are not fast, but the book is very well worth the wait!

Merchants with excellent medieval wares:

Syke’s Sutlery - Good source of hats, socks and assorted late period accesories.

Fabrics-store.com - A good linen supplier, with reasonable prices.

Jas Townsend and Son - A fine purveyor of 18th century goods, some of which are useful to medievalists.

Historic Enterprises - Their 14th century work is spot on, and the rest of their stock is also wonderful

HR- Replikate - replicas of jewelry from 1500 BC to 1500 AD, they have some excellent viking brooches.

Raymonds Quiet Press - Absolutely wonderful castings in brass of utilitarian and jewelry pieces.  Nice helm decorations too.

Pewter Replicas _ The spoons and knife sets in particular are very nice.

The Northerner - historical glasswares from the Roman through 18th centuries.

Plimoth Plantation Museum Shops:  Much of their merchandise is good for English Civil War and late period Scadian purposes. Their reproduction pottery is particularly nice.
